Conrad Weichers Dies Friday Eve In W'loo Hospital

Conrad Weichers, 55, Wellsburg businessman, died at 11:30 p.m. Friday at Allen Memorial hospital from complications of a cerebral hemorrhage. He had been a patient in the Waterloo hospital since early Monday morning, Jan. 18.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Doyen Funeral Home and at 1:30 p.m. at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, with Rev. Peter Larsen in charge.

Burial was in the church cemetery.

Special music for the service was provided by soloist Eldon Harms, and organist J. E. Harms. Flower attendants were Mrs. Tyle Huisman and Mrs. Grace Huisman.

Serving as casketbearers were Thomas Claassen, Sherwood Snittjer, Lester Huisman, William Bettenga, Larry Riekena, Vernon Penning, Tyle Huisman and George H. Geerdes.

Conrad Weichers was born to Mr. and Mrs. Dick Weichers on February 8, 1909 in Lincoln twp. in Grundy county. He reached the age of 55 years, 11 months and fourteen days.

Mr. Weichers received his education in a rural school in Shiloh township. On August 17, 1934 he was married to Mable Maas. This union was blessed with two sons and one daughter.

They made their first home north of Wellsburg, later lived in Cleves, and in 1937 they moved to Wellsburg, where they have made their home since that time. He was in the trucking business here for many years.

Conrad Weichers was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul's Evangelical Luth. church in Wellsburg on June 19, 1937.

Mr. Weichers is survived by his wife Mable, his mother, Mrs. Dick Weichers, Wellsburg; and sons Donald of Fort Worth, Texas; Clifford, at home, daughter, Beverly Kay, Mrs. LaVern VanHeiden, Wellsburg and three grandchildren.

Also surviving are four brothers and seven sisters. They are: (Anna) Mrs. Richard Rindels of Bristow, (Grace) Mrs. John Freese of Wellsburg; John Weichers of Wellsburg; (Rena) Mrs. Harm Huisman of Buffalo Center; (Nettie) Mrs. Dick D. Huisman of Wellsburg, (Edna) Mrs. Paul Krebs of Waterloo, Harold Weichers of Wellsburg, (Leona) Mrs. Francis Hopkins of Morrison, Lester Weichers of Dewar, Dale Weichers of Holland, Miss Mildred Weichers of Wellsburg.

He was preceded in death by his father in April of 1962.
