Ralph L. "Spinner" Jones, 75, of Reinbeck, passed away at the Grundy Memorial Hospital Saturday morning, January 11, where he had been a patient since January 4. His death was attributed to a heart condition.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 14, from the United Church of Christ, Reinbeck, with Pastor J. Allan Mittler officiating. Interment was in the Washington Township Cemetery, rural Morrison.

A memorial fund is being established.

Born August 8, 1921, at Morrison, Ralph LeRoy Jones, was the son of D. Tracy and Ethel Thompson Jones. He received his education in the Grundy county rural schools and then attended Grundy Center High School where he graduated with the class of 1937.

On April 28, 1956, at Morrison, he was united in marriage to Miss Bernice Ann Bielefeldt. The couple farmed in the Reinbeck area until retiring into Reinbeck in 1987.

Ralph "Spinner" Jones was a member of the United Church of Christ, Reinbeck.

Preceding him in death were his parents; 3 brothers and a sister, Delbert, Harold, Roscoe and Hazel.

Surviving are his wife, Bernice A. of Reinbeck; a daughter, Shirley A. Jones of Reinbeck; 4 sons, James L. Jones of Latimer, William D. Jones of Dike, Robert J. Jones and Donald A. and wife Tammy J. Jones, both of Dike; 4 grandchildren, Aaron, Emily and Tracy of Beaman and Christopher of Reinbeck; 2 sisters-in-law, Florence Jones of Dike and Avis Jones of Redlands, California; and several nieces and nephews.
