Ibe Harms, A Lifetime Grundy Resident, Dies

Ibe Harms, Sr., 81, passed away at 8 a.m. Monday, Jan. 2, at the Grundy County Memorial hospital. Death was due to complications of old age.

Mr. Harms was born Sept. 8, 1879, in Colfax township, Grundy County. He was married to Minnie Wiegman on Feb. 25, 1903. They farmed in Pleasant Valley township until 1942 when they retired and moved to Wellsburg. Mrs. Harms passed away April 28, 1955.

Mr. Harms is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Dickie DeNeui and Mrs. Ernest DeNeui, two sons, Alvin and Norman, 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; also one sister, Mrs. Kate Finke, and one brother, Willie Harms, all of Wellsburg. He was preceded in death by his wife and one daughter, Mrs. John Ascher.

Funeral services will be held at 12:30 Thursday afternoon at the home followed by services in St. John's Lutheran Church at Wellsburg. Burial will be in St. Paul's Lutheran cemetery.
