Mrs. Olthoff Dies Unexpectedly Of Heart Condition

Funeral services for Mrs. Minnie Olthoff were held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Doyen Funeral Home and at 1:30 p.m. at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Pastor Donald Brown was officiating clergyman. Mrs. Eldon Harms was organist, who accompanied the soloist, Mrs. Elwood Doyen. A hymn was also sung by the congregation. Flower attendants were Mrs. Eilert Walters and Mrs. Alfred Krull.

Pall bearers were Darrell Koch, Dallas Koch, Don Rouse, Harlyn Riekena, William Janssen and Rollin Knock. Interment was made in the St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church cemetery.

Mrs. Minnie Olthoff died suddenly on Tuesday morning, June 10, in Cedar Rapids of a heart attack. She reached the age of 63 years.

She was born on a farm in Colfax Township, Grundy County, northeast of Wellsburg on June 10, 1906, the daughter of William and Louise Giesking Koch Sr. She attended the rural school in the area.

On January 16, 1924, she was united in marriage to Heine H. Olthoff. Following their marriage they lived on a farm in Shiloh township. Mr. Olthoff passed away on March 3, 1968. She continued to make her home on their farm in Shiloh Township. She had worked for the last five years at the Countryside Nursing Home in Grundy Center.

She was a member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church having been baptised on July 22, 1907, and confirmed on April 9, 1922.

Those left to mourn her passing are her father, William Koch, Sr., of Wellsburg, 2 sisters, Miss Charlotte Koch of Cedar Rapids, (Elsie) Mrs. Forrest Lahue of Cedar Rapids; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her mother and a brother, William Koch, Jr.
