Willie Harms, 63, Buried In Cemetery Here

Willie Harms passed away Saturday morning at the Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo following a lingering illness, at the age of 63 years, 1 month and 17 days. He had been taken to the hospital the previous evening.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, October 4, 1977 at 1:30 p.m. at the St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church northeast of Wellsburg. Rev. Clarence Alexander was officiating clergyman.

Eldon Harms was soloist. Mrs. Frank Meyeraan, Jr. was organist. Flower attendants were Mrs. Merle Whitmire and Mrs. Warren Anderson.

Pall bearers were Dennis Harms, James Harms, Clifford Harms, Tim Stokes, Jerry Freese, and Steven Harms.

Interment was made in St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church cemetery. Arrangements were made by Doyen Funeral Home.

He was born on a farm in Pleasant Valley township, northeast of Wellsburg, on August 14, 1914, the son of William and Dora (Buss) Harms. He was baptized in the St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church on November 22, 1914.

Preceding him in death were: his parents, two brothers, Dick and Ibe Harms.

Those who survive him are: three sisters and three brothers, Theodore Harms of Grundy Center; Mrs. Lena Freese of Wellsburg; (Mary), Mrs. Edwin Stahl of Wellsburg; Alfred Harms of Wellsburg; (Mabel), Mrs. Louie Janssen of Reinbeck; Elmer Harms of Jefferson and nieces and nephews.
