Funeral Services for T. L. Neessen Held Sat.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. at Central Christian Church in Waterloo for Thomas Ludwig Neessen, 76, of Waterloo. He died on Wednesday at Allen Memorial hospital of emphysema. Burial was in St. Paul's Lutheran cemetery here.

Mr. Neessen was born November 8, 1895 in Grundy county, the son of Thomas and Inka Swyter Neessen. She preceded him in death. He later married Carrie Jepperson at Allison on December 22, 1927.

For the past 45 years he had lived in Waterloo. He was employed by the Litchfield Manufacturing Co. for several years and by the Rock Island Millwork Co. for many years before retiring in 1961.

Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Thelma Groninga of Ackley and Mrs. Marjorie Truax of Albany, Oregon; three sons: Thomas F. of Cedar Falls, Heiko of Lebanon, Oregon, Floyd of Fort Huachuca, Arizona; 17 grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Murphy of Waterloo and Mrs. Alice Claassen of Grundy Center.

Besides his first wife he was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Merlin in 1964, three sisters and four brothers.
