Funeral For Mrs. Krull On Saturday

Funeral services for Mrs. Helena Krull were held on Saturday, September 7 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church northeast of Wellsburg. Rev. Richard Dowling officiated at the services.

Eldon Harms was soloist and sang two selections. A hymn was also sung by the congregation. Mrs. Frank Meyeraan, Jr. was organist.

Mrs. Minnie Taffinder and Mrs. Myles Meyer were flower attendants.

Casketbearers were Paul Koch, Gerald Koch, Rick Krull, Dallas Koch, Darrell Koch and Myles Meyer. The interment service was held in St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church cemetery.

Mrs. Helena Krull, 71, died at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4 at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo due to a heart condition. She had been taken to the hospital on Tuesday, August 27, for treatment.

She was born Helena Hermine Koch, on October 5, 1913, on a farm northwest of Wellsburg, the daughter of Henry and Louise (Senne) Koch, and received her education in the rural school in the area. On November 1, 1945 she was married to Alfred Krull at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Wellsburg. Following their marriage they lived on a farm southeast of Wellsburg. They moved from the farm in September of 1955 to Wellsburg to make their home.

She was baptized on December 18, 1913 in St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church and was confirmed on Palm Sunday, March 29, 1931 in the same church. She was a long time member of the Lutheran Church Women.

Helena was an active member of the Wellsburg Amvets Post 91 Auxiliary for many years.

Preceding her in death were her parents, 5 brothers, Henry, William, Fred, Ernest and Dick.

Those left to mourn her passing are: her husband, Alfred Krull; 2 sons and 2 daughters, Larry Koch of Wellsburg, Allen Krull of Wellsburg, Donna Krull of Wellsburg, Mrs. Dave (Grace) Brockway of Alden; 3 grandchildren; 2 sisters and 2 brothers, Mrs. Carlos (Louise) Lathrop of Oskaloosa, Herman Koch of Wellsburg, Chris Koch of Wellsburg, Mrs. James (Lorraine) Williams of Williamsburg and many other relatives and friends.

The Doyen Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
