Charlotte D. Koch, 93, of Wellsburg, died from natural causes at the Grundy County Memorial Hospital on Friday, December 1, 2000.
Funeral services were 1:30 p.m. Monday, December 4, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, rural Wellsburg. Pastor Mary Kenosian officiated. Burial followed at the church cemetery.
Charlotte was born November 25, 1907, in rural Wellsburg, the daughter of William and Louisa (Giesking) Koch. She attended rural Wellsburg country school. She worked in Vinton at the School for the Blind and she also helped her sister at her sister's nursing home. Charlotte worked as a machinist for the Turner Company in Cedar Rapids where she was employed for over 40 years.
She was a member of the Keenager Group at First Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids, of which she was a member of the congregation for over 50 years. She really enjoyed her nieces and nephews, her great-nieces and nephews and her great-great-nieces and nephews. Charlotte was also an avid sports fan and Iowa Hawkeye fan.
She is survived by seven nieces and nephews; 17 great-nieces and nephews and nine great-great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, and two sisters.
The Doyen-Abels Funeral Home, Wellsburg, was in charge of the arrangements.
