Larry L. Koch, 63, of Grundy Center, formerly of Wellsburg, died September 5 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
Funeral services were September 8 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, rural Wellsburg. Burial followed in the church cemetery. A memorial fund has been established.
Larry was born September 27, 1937 at home in rural Grundy County, the son of Helena (Koch) Krull and stepfather Alfred Krull. Larry attended Wellsburg High School. Larry lived in Wellsburg until five years ago when he moved to Grundy Center. Larry had been employed at Huisman Brothers Tiling in Wellsburg and then at Pizza Hut in Grundy Center. Larry retired in 1998.
Larry was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in rural Wellsburg. He sang in the church choir there. Larry enjoyed bowling and belonged to a league in Grundy Center. He liked to go hunting and fishing. Larry liked to play with his nieces and nephews and great-nephews.
Larry is survived by a half-brother, Allen (Carol) Krull of Wellsburg; two half-sisters, Donna Krull of Wellsburg and Gracie (Dave) Brockway of Reynolds, NE; four aunts, one uncle; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
