Christine Riekena Dies In Washington

Christine Riekena, 81, passed away June 1, in Spokane, WA. Private burial services were held at Spokane Memorial Gardens.

Christine Riekena, the daughter of Henry and Hattie Maas Ascher, was born near Wellsburg. She was married to Roy Riekena, who died in 1978.

She had lived in Spokane for more than 30 years, and was a member of the Lutheran Women's Association and Ruth Circle.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Con (Myrna) Wittwer, Spokane; two sons, Larry Riekena, Tacoma, WA, and Rodger Riekena, Grants Pass, OR; two brothers, Peter Ascher, Aplington, and Henry Ascher Jr., Parkersburg; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
