Services Thursday For Hattie Neessen

Hattie Neessen passed away at the Grundy Co. Memorial hospital at Grundy Center Monday morning, December 5, following a long illness.

She had reached the age of 54 years, one month and seven days.

She was born on a farm in Colfax Township, Grundy County, Iowa, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter A. Neessen. She received her education in a rural school in Colfax township and also attended Wellsburg High School.

The deceased lived on a farm east of Wellsburg until 1942 when she moved to Wellsburg with her mother. Here she made her home until the time of her death. She was a member of the Wellsburg Reformed Church having made confession of faith on June 12, 1966.

She was preceded in death by her parents. Those who mourn her passing are her daughter, Kathy at home, three brothers, Anton of Wellsburg, Richard of Holland, and Arthur of Dike, besides a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Thursday, December 8, at 1:30 p.m. at the Beving Funeral Home and later at the Wellsburg Reformed Church. Rev. Gideon Wolbrink was officiating clergyman. Mrs. Woodrow Lindaman and Mrs. Elmer Ruter sang two duet numbers accompanied by Miss Marcella Neessen. Flower attendants were Mrs. Walter Block and Mrs. Gordon Junker.

Pall bearers were LuRay Neessen, James Neessen, Roger Neessen, Frederick Terfehn, Ronald Venenga and Bernard Eilderts. Interment was made in the Colfax Center Presbyterian Church Cemetery near Holland.
