Funeral Tuesday For Ontje Knock At Area Church

Funeral services for Ontje Knock, 79, were held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Colfax Center Presbyterian church following a prayer service at the family home in Grundy Center.

Rev. Gene Straatmeyer was in charge of the service. Burial was in the Colfax Center church cemetery.

The casket was taken to the church at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday from the Engelkes Funeral Home.

Mr. Knock passed away Sunday morning at the Grundy County Memorial Hospital, where he had been a patient two weeks.

Ontje Knock was born September 5, 1885, in Colfax township, the son of Mr. and Mrs. harm Knock. He was united in marriage to Dena Neessen on March 15, 1916, at the home of her parents.

The couple farmed in Colfax township until they retired and moved to Grundy Center in 1942.

He was a member of the Colfax Center Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include his widow, two daughters, Leona Knock and Edna, Mrs. LaVerne McMurray, both of Cedar Rapids; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, a brother, a half sister and two half brothers.
