Funeral Thursday For Dena Knock

Funeral services for Mrs. Dena Knock, 90, Grundy Center, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Colfax Center Presbyterian Church with Rev. E. H. Buschman officiating, assisted by Delmar Meester.

Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Knock died at 2:30 p.m. Monday at the Grundy County Memorial Hospital where she had been a patient for two weeks.

Dena Neessen was born May 23, 1881, in Colfax township, the daughter of Thomas and Alberta Janssen Neessen.

She attended school in Colfax township. The family attended St. Paul's Lutheran Church.

On March 15, 1916, she was married to Ontje Knock. The couple farmed in Colfax township until they retired and moved to Grundy Center in 1942. Mr. Knock died Feb. 28, 1965.

She is survived by two daughters, Miss Leona Knock of Grundy Center, and Edna, Mrs. LaVerne McMurray of Cedar Rapids; three grandchildren; one brother, Thomas Neessen of Waterloo; and two sisters, Mrs. Alice Claassen of Grundy Center and Mrs. Raymond Murphy of Waterloo.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and two sisters.

Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
