Mrs. J. Seehusen Rites Saturday

Memorial services were held at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon, July 27, at the Colfax Center Presbyterian church for Mrs. John J. Seehusen, 51, who died Wednesday evening, July 24 at 7:30 o'clock in the Grundy County Memorial hospital at Grundy Center. She had been a cancer patient at the hospital 17 days.

Rev. Jerry VanCurler officiated at the services. Mrs. Tom Simms sang "No One Ever Cared For Me Like Jesus" and "His Name Is Wonderful". Accompanist was Mrs. Raymond Hinders, who also played selected organ prelude and postlude numbers. Casket bearers were: Bernerd Harms, Daryl Harrenstein, Eldon Kruger, Fred C. Henze, LaVerne Seehusen and Virgil Muller. Mrs. Andrew Heerts and Mrs. Charles Harberts were floral attendants. Ushers were John Paterni, Harm G. Hook, and Milf Meyer. Interment was in the Colfax Center cemetery, rural Holland. Friends and relatives returned to the church following services for lunch and fellowship with the bereaved family.

Neona was born October 24, 1922 in Colfax township, Grundy county Iowa, the daughter of Barney and Ontje Meents Kruger. On June 23, 1943, she was united in marriage to John J. Seehusen at the Colfax Center Presbyterian church parsonage. They farmed in Beaver township, Grundy county, until February 1969 when they moved to Grundy Center. She was a member of the Colfax Presbyterian Church.

Survivors are her husband, John J. Seehusen; one daughter, Norma, Mrs. James Lewis of RR1, Cedar Falls; three brothers, John P. Kruger, Klaas C. Kruger and Bernerd Kruger, all of Holland; three sisters, Mrs. Berdene Harms, Mrs. Claradean Harrenstein and Mrs. John (Onita) J. Meyer, all of Holland, and one granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one son and one brother.

The Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
