Marvin Tack Services Held

Marvin Tack, of Holland, passed away of natural causes on Monday, March 3, at the Presbyterian Village in Ackley, having attained the age of 79 years, 8 months and 20 days.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, March 6, at Colfax Center Presbyterian Church, in rural Holland, at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Larry Hoop officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Allen Schroeder, Cody Tack, Andrew Hobson, Joe Junker, Dwayne Sents and Arnold Tjepkes.

A memorial fund has been established.

Born June 11, 1917, in Colfax Township, Grundy County, Marvin was the son of Philip and Reka (Kiewiet) Tack. He grew up in Grundy County and received his education at Colfax #9 and #2.

On January 20, 1940, he was united in marriage to Genevieve M. Lutterman at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. Marvin farmed in Grundy county many years. He was a member of the Colfax Center Presbyterian Church in rural Holland. In 1990, he made his home at the Presbyterian Village in Ackley.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Genevieve on April 1, 1976.

Survivors include 2 sons, Robert Tack and wife Arlene of Westboro, Wisconsin, and William Tack and wife Julie of DeWitt; 1 daughter, Carol Schroeder and husband Allen of Waverly; 11 grandchildren; and 3 sisters, Ella Bakker of Grundy Center, Annette Flater of Holland and Lorraine Heikens of Scottsdale, Arizona.

The Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home, Grundy Center, was in charge of the funeral arrangements.
