Services Held For Lee DeNeui

Lee DeNeui, 84, of Grundy Center, passed away on Saturday, December 15, at the Long Term Care Unit of the Grundy hospital.

Services were held at Colfax Center Presbyterian Church in rural Holland on Tuesday, December 18, with burial in the church cemetery. Reverend Larry Hoop officiated the services.

Pallbearers were Don DeNeui, Verne Eberline, Bob DeNeui, Jerry Eberline, Virgil Eberline and Alan Yoder.

Lee DeNeui, son of Dirk and Mina Luitjens DeNeui, was born on November 5, 1906 in Grundy county. He remained in Grundy county throughout his life.

On March 13, 1929, he was united in marriage to Gertrude Abels. They farmed in Grundy county until they retired from farming in 1964. Lee was then employed by Rewerts Implement of Grundy Center.

Mr. DeNeui was a member of the Colfax Center Presbyterian Church of rural Holland.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Gertrude; one daughter, Jean Remer; three brothers, Sander, Henry and Dickie; and two sisters, Flora Buskohl and Rena Eberline.

Surviving him are one daughter, Phyllis DeNeui of Grundy Center; one son-in-law, Reverend Kenneth Remer of Walker; one brother, Noble deNeui of Wellsburg; two sisters, Hanna Anderson of Grundy Center and Lucille Christians of Wellsburg; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial fund has been established.

Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home in Grundy Center was in charge of the services.
