Rites Held For Arnold Kruse
Arnold Kruse, 73, of Toledo, passed away at the Bethesda Care Center in Toledo on Sunday, September 23.
Funeral services were held at Colfax Center Presbyterian Church in rural Holland on Thursday, September 27, at 1:30 p.m., with Pastor Larry C. Hoop and Rev. Thomas J. Bower officiating.
Casket bearers were Dean Kruse, David Shaw, Neil MacNaughton, Mark Kruse, Harlan Kruse and Dale MacNaughton.
Interment followed in the church cemetery.
Arnold Henry Kruse, the son of Henry and Elizabeth Knock Kruse, was born September 26, 1916, in Grundy County. He grew up and attended school in Grundy County, graduating from Grundy Center High School in 1934. He attended Iowa State University and obtained his Vocational Agriculture degree in 1940.
Arnold was self-employed in sales in Grundy County for a number of years, and also worked as a farm laborer. In 1968, he made his home at the Country Living Care Center in Toledo.
Arnold was a member of the Colfax Center Presbyterian Church, rural Holland.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Margaret Groote and Lillian Shaw; and three brothers, Conrad, Harm, and Vernon.
Survivors include two sisters, Eunice, Mrs. Allen MacNaughton, Marshalltown, and Mable, Mrs. Howard Hajek, of Park Ridge, IL.
A memorial fund has been established.
The Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home in Grundy Center was in charge of the professional arrangements.
