Clarice Kruger Services Held

Clarice Kruger, 49, of Holland, passed away on Tuesday, July 31, at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo.

Funeral services were held Friday, August 3, at the Colfax Center Presbyterian Church, rural Holland, at 1:30 p.m. Pastor Larry C. Hoop officiated.

Casket bearers were Norman Boike, Bernard Kruger, Daryl Harrenstein, Vernon Kruger, Dean Harrenstein and Larry Harrenstein.

Interment was held in the church cemetery.

Clarice Ann Kruger, daughter of K. C. and Elsie Harrenstein Kruger, was born April 6, 1941, in Holland. Clarice grew up in the Holland area and graduated from the Grundy Center High School in 1959.

She was employed by the Spokesman Press in Grundy Center for over 29 years.

She was a member of the Colfax Center Presbyterian Church, serving on the Christian Education Committee in various capacities, including Sunday School Superintendent, Sunday and Bible School teacher, and Catechism teacher. Clarice was also a member of the Senior choir and the Pulpit Committee, and was active in WIC, Women In Church.

Clarice is survived by her parents, K. C. and Elsie Kruger, of Holland; one brother, Eldon, of Holland; three sisters, Bernita Lamfers of Grundy Center, Karen Kruger of Holland, and Jean Ralston of Holland; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial fund has been established.

The Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home in Grundy Center was in charge of the professional arrangements.
