Mrs. C. Neessen Rites on Saturday At Ref. Church

Funeral services for Mrs. Claus C. Neessen, 64, were held at 1 p.m. Saturday in the home and later in the Reformed Church, followed by burial in the church cemetery.

Rev. George C. Poppen officiated at the service.

Music was furnished by Mrs. Poppen, who sang "Going Down the Valley" and "God Will Take Care of You". Mrs. Harold Lindaman was organist.

Pallbearers were Wilbur J. Knock, Elmer Fritzel, Elmer J. Ruter, Harold J. OKones, Harold Geerdes and Chris Masselink. Flower attendants were Mrs. Ebe Finke and Mrs. John R. Hoodjer. Herman E. Ruter and Peter E. Ruter were ushers.

Mrs. Neessen entered the Grundy County Memorial Hospital on Monday morning, June 8, and passed away of heart failure at 5 p.m. Wednesday, having reached the age of 64 years, 11 months and 27 days.

Marie Knock was born June 13, 1894, in Colfax township, near Holland, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Knock.

She was united in marriage to Claus C. Neessen on March 29, 1917. The couple were blessed with one child, Marcella. The Neessens lived on a farm north of Wellsburg until 1958 when they moved to Wellsburg.

Mrs. Neessen made confession of her faith in Jesus Christ on January 12, 1919, and was a faithful member of the church throughout her life.

Survivors include her husband; one daughter, Marcella; her father, W. E. Knock; and many other relatives and a host of friends.

Preceding her in death were her mother; two sisters, Helen as a small girl, and Elizabeth, Mrs. Gust Fritzel; and two brothers, Jake and Eilert.
