Oldig J. Nederhoff Dies Saturday At Hospital Of Asthma
Funeral services for Oldig J. Nederhoff, 56, were held Tuesday afternoon at 1 o'clock in the home and later in the Wellsburg Reformed church, with Rev. George C. Poppen in charge.
Burial was in the church cemetery.
Casket bearers were Peter H. Nederhoff, Edward Nederhoff, C. C. Nederhoff, Coert H. Bunger, Coert A. Bunger and Harm C. Meyer.
Music for the service was provided by a quartet consisting of Mr. and Mrs. Irwin Abels, Mrs. Harris Peters and Eugene Ruter. Organist was Miss Marcella Neessen.
Mrs. Fred Eiten and Mrs. Gordon Geerdes were flower attendants.
Oldig J. Nederhoff passed away around 2 p.m. Saturday afternoon at the Grundy County Memorial hospital in Grundy Center where he had been taken early that morning. Death was attributed to the complications of asthma.
He reached the age of 56 years, 1 month and 17 days.
He was born in Grundy county on a farm southwest of Wellsburg on May 13, 1906. His parents were Mr. and Mrs. Johannes Nederhoff. He attended the rural school in that district. All of his life was spent on the farm where in later years he made his home with his brother and two sisters, after his parents retired and moved to Wellsburg.
He was a member of the Wellsburg Reformed church having made confession of his faith in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Saviour in the year 1952.
He leaves to mourn: his mother, Mrs. Cuna Nederhoff, six brothers and sisters. They are: Coert, Gratus, Tillie (Mrs. Edward H. Harms), Diana, Hinderika, and Carl L. Nederhoff, all of Wellsburg, besides a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, who passed away on May 11, 1957.
