Rites Friday for Mrs. Aise Rust At Reformed Church

Funeral services were held at 1:15 p.m. Friday at the Doyen Funeral Home and later at the Wellsburg Reformed Church for Mrs. Aise Rust, longtime area resident, who died Tuesday at her home in Wellsburg.

The Rev. Gideon Wolbrink officiated the service. Burial was in the Reformed Church cemetery.

Music for the service was by the men's quartet composed of Irwin Abels, Harold Lindaman, Eugene Ruter and Duane Murra. Miss Marcella Neessen was organist.

Casketbearers were Harry Naber, John M. Rust, Wilbur Rust, Milf Meyer, Harm D. Bruns and Harm E. Bruns. Flower attendants were Mrs. Gratus Ross and Miss Mildred Weichers.

The deceased was born Tena Bruns on May 6, 1884, in Germany. She reached the age of 80 years, 3 months and 5 days. She was the daughter of John and Johanna Bruns. When she was 6 years of age she came to America with her parents and family. They settled on a farm in Grundy County. She received her education in the rural school and in the Wellsburg Public School.

On June 6, 1918, she was united in marriage to Aise Rust in Wellsburg by the Rev. William Landsiedel. Following their marriage they made their home on a farm east of Wellsburg, and in 1923 they moved to a farm 6 miles southeast of Wellsburg. The retired in 1952 and moved to Wellsburg, where they have made their home since.

In November of 1963 she entered the hospital at Grundy Center for surgery. She was a patient in the hospital for 7 weeks. Death was due to carcinoma.

She was a member of the Wellsburg Reformed Church, having made her Confession of Faith in Jesus Christ on January 12, 1919. She was a charter member of the Dorcas Society. She was a member of the Ladies Aid up to the time of her passing away, having been an active member up to the time of her illness.

Those who preceded her in death were he parents, 1 brother, Dick Bruns, and 1 sister, Katie, Mrs. Henry Mommer.

Those left to mourn her passing are: her husband, Aise; 2 sons and 1 daughter: Harm A. Rust, of Grundy Center; (Jeanette), Mrs. John Flater of Holland; and Raymond Rust of Wellsburg; 1 foster daughter, (Deloris) Mrs. John Olthoff, of Grundy Center; 1 brother, Henry Bruns of Lennox, South Dakota; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family wishes to thank all of their neighbors, friends and relatives for their many expressions of sympathy and their helpfulness during this time of loss and sorrow. Immediately following the services on the cemetery, all those who have come to pay their respects to the departed are invited to return to the Fellowship Hall for lunch and refreshments.
