Mrs. Meta Meyer Dies At Ackley

Mrs. Meta Ohling Meyer, daughter of George and Anna Ohling was born February 27, 1886 in Westhusen, Germany. In the Reformed Church (in Germany) she was baptized in April of 1886 and confirmed in 1902. She was educated in the schools of Germany and in 1913 at the age of 27 she with her parents, brothers and sisters came to America and settled in Grundy County.

Three years later on April 19th she was united in marriage to Wert Meyer of Wellsburg. While farming at Wellsburg three children were born to them.

In 1933 they moved to a farm in Franklin County and home for the past 17 years has been for Meta at Ackley.

She was a life long church member holding at different time membership at the Wellsburg Reformed Church and St. Peter's United Church of Christ. At Wellsburg she spent many active years as a member of the Ladies Aid and a member of the choir.

Early Monday morning, July 15, 1968 she left to mourn her ?ting two children: Lambert of Iowa Falls, and Anna, Mrs. Er? of Geneva. Also surviving are six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, one brother, Edgar Ohling of Steamboat Rock, and three sister-in-laws.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1944, an infant son in ?, her parents, 4 brothers and one sister.
