Funeral Friday Longtime Area Road Employee

Funeral services were held for George J. Lutterman on Friday afternoon, July 18 at 1:30 p.m. at the Reformed Church. Rev. Gideon Wolbrink was officiating clergyman. Mrs. W.D. Murray was soloist. Miss Marcella Neessen was organist. Flower attendants were Mrs. Peter Ruter and Mrs. Jack Deters. Pall bearers were Boyd Meyer, Arnold Nederhoff, Jack Deters, Harris Harrenstein, Evert Heikens, and Don Simonson. Interment was held in the cemetery adjoining the church. Doyen Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

George John Lutterman died Tuesday evening, July 15, 1975, at his home in Wellsburg due to an apparent heart attack. He reached the age of 70 years, 10 months and 13 days.

He was born on a farm in Shiloh Township two miles southeast of Wellsburg on September 3, 1904, the son of John and Tillie (DeBuhr) Lutterman. He attended the rural school in the area.

He worked for many years with the John W. Ross road construction crew of Wellsburg and in 1940 he started working for the Grundy County Highway Department at their maintenance shop in Grundy Center. He retired on January 1, 1971.

George was a member of the Wellsburg Reformed Church having joined the church by confession of faith on December 18, 1938.

Those preceding him in death were: his parents, one brother Jerry and an infant brother.

He leaves to mourn his passing: 2 sisters, (Tena), Mrs. Conrad Molendorp, Wellsburg; (LaVerne), Mrs. Dale Tack, Holland; 2 nieces, (Belva Les), Mrs. Arnold Nederhoff, Wellsburg; (Delores), Mrs. Boyd Meyer, Wellsburg and many other relatives and friends.
