Aise H. Rust Died Saturday

Aise H. Rust passed away Saturday afternoon, February 21, 1976, at the Beverly Manor Convalescent Center in Grundy Center due to a stroke. He had made his home at the Convalescent Center since December 29th of last year. He reached the age of 84 years, 10 months and 16 days.

Services were held Wednesday afternoon, February 25 at 1:30 in the Wellsburg Reformed Church. Rev. Gideon Wolbrink officiated. Mrs. Edwin Behrends and Mrs. Bernard A. Engelkes sang "Face to Face" and "I Want To See My Saviour First Of All." Miss Marcella Neessen was organist.

Flower attendants were Mrs. Gratus Ross and Mrs. Dick D. Huisman. Casketbearers were Harlan, Samuel and Wilbur Rust, John M. Rust, Louis Ubben and Milf Meyer. Interment was in the Wellsburg Reformed Church cemetery.

Arrangements were made by the Doyen Funeral Home.

He was born on a farm in Shiloh Township, southeast of Wellsburg on April 5, 1891, the son of Harm and Swantje (Paterni) Rust. He attended the rural school in the area. On June 6, 1918, he was united in marriage to Tena Bruns in Wellsburg by Rev. William Landsiedel. Following their marriage they made their home on a farm east of Wellsburg and in 1923 they moved to a farm 6 miles southeast of Wellsburg. They retired in 1952 and moved to Wellsburg to make their home. Mrs. Rust passed away August 11, 1964.

He was a long time member of the Wellsburg Reformed Church, having joined by Confession of Faith on January 12, 1919. He served on the church consistory as a Deacon and an Elder.

Those who preceded him in death were: his parents, his wife, one sister (Mrs. Hattie Nabor); two brothers, Henry and Harm Rust.

He leaves to mourn his passing: two sons and one daughter, Harm A. Rust of Grundy Center; (Janet) Mrs. John Flater, Jr. of Holland; Raymond J. Rust of Wellsburg; one foster daughter (Deloris) Mrs. John Olthoff of Grundy Center; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one sister, Mrs. Gertie Penning of Wellsburg and many other relatives and friends.
