Deloris Olthoff Rites Are Held

Deloris Olthoff, 67, of Wellsburg, passed away Sunday, June 29, of cancer at the Covenant Medical Center on Kimball in Waterloo.

Funeral services were held Monday, July 2, at 1:30 p.m. at the Wellsburg Reformed Church with Rev. Verlyn D. Boone officiating.

Casket bearers were John Ruter, Ron Jungling, Norman Harms, Elmer Ruter, Benjamin Hook and Leonard Gelder.

Interment was in the church cemetery.

Deloris K. Olthoff, daughter of Henry and Katie Bruns Mommer, was born March 19, 1923, in Iowa Falls. She graduated from the Wellsburg High School in 1940.

On June 23, 1943, Deloris was united in marriage to John Olthoff at the Wellsburg Reformed Church. She and John farmed and moved to Wellsburg from the farm in 1982.

Deloris was a member of the Reformed Church Women, in the women's chorus at church, a member of the Bible Study class, and a member of the Shiloh Homemakers. She was interested and active in community affairs in Wellsburg for years until her health failed.

Deloris was preceded in death by her parents, one brother Harold, and one sister, Esther Garrett.

She is survived by her husband John, of Wellsburg, two sons, Curtis of Sioux City, and Craig of Ackley; five grandchildren; one foster brother, Harm Rust; and one foster sister, Janet Flater.

A memorial fund has been established.

The Doyen-Abels Funeral Home in Wellsburg was in charge of the funeral arrangements.
