Edith Murra Services Held

Edith Murra, 83, of Wellsburg, passed away Thursday, July 9, at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo of a heart attack.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, July 13, at the Wellsburg Reformed Church with burial in the church cemetery. A memorial fund has been established.

Edith was born in Wellsburg the daughter of John and Grace Hippen Geiken on February 26, 1915. On December 4, 1935, she was united in marriage to Abraham Murra at the Wellsburg Reformed Church Parsonage. He preceded her in death. Edith was a long time member of the Wellsburg Reformed Church.

Edith is survived by four children, Norma Tack and her husband Royce of Osage, Clarence and his wife Harriet of Parkersburg, Marlys Bohlen and her husband Verle of Wellsburg and Duane and his wife Rebecca of Wellsburg; 1 brother, Frank Geiken and his wife Clara of Wellsburg, 1 sister, Alice Lucktenburg and her husband John of Parkersburg; 12 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Abe; 1 granddaughter, Amanda Murra; 1 great-granddaughter, Megan Schmit; and 1 sister, Dena Harms Bunger.

The Doyen-Abels Funeral Home in Wellsburg was in charge of the arrangements.
