Rites Held For Lucile Lutterman

Lucile Lutterman, 89, of Wellsburg, passed away on Saturday, October 24, 1998, at the Grundy Care Center in Grundy Center of natural causes.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, October 28, at 1:30 p.m. at the Wellsburg Reformed Church. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Pastor Kevin Ver Hoeven officiated.

Pallbearers were Edwin Behrends, Scott Harms, Lester Schipper, Rick and Randy Groninga and Kenny Bunger.

A memorial fund has been established.

Lucile was born on September 12, 1909, in Aberdeen, South Dakota, the daughter of Henry and Hattie (Geersema) Van Lengen. She graduated from Aplington High School. On September 28, 1933, she was united in marriage with LeRoy Lutterman in Wellsburg. They farmed south of Wellsburg until his death in 1968. Lucile lived in Wellsburg until she went to the Grundy Care Center in 1985.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Tom, Ben, Harvey and Marvin Van Lengen; and three sisters, Jennie Ross, Marie Cobie and Irene Miller.

Survivors include her two daughters, Sheryl Harms and husband Eldon of Wellsburg and Ardith Miller and husband Donald of Tucson, AZ, six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Frances Regan of Denver, Iowa.

The Doyen-Abels Funeral Home, Wellsburg, is in charge of the arrangements.
