Anna Murra, 82, of Wellsburg, died Friday, February 26, 1999, at the Maple Manor Care Center in Aplington of heart failure.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 2, at the Wellsburg Reformed Church in Wellsburg. Burial followed in the church cemetery. A memorial fund has been established.
Anna was born on a farm in Pleasant Valley Township, Grundy County on October 6, 1916, the daughter of Thomas K. and Anna (Peters) Meester. On December 14, 1938, she was united in marriage to Alle Murra at the Pleasant Valley Reformed Church of rural Holland. Following their marriage they lived on the Murra home place west of Wellsburg. In December of 1943 they moved to a farm in Colfax Township northeast of Wellsburg where they continued to make their home. Alle passed away April 2, 1971. In 1975 Anna moved to Wellsburg.
Anna was a member of the Wellsburg Reformed Church. She was also a member of the church women's guild.
Anna was preceded in death by her husband Alle; one sister, Etta Renken; and four brothers, Henry, John, Herman and James.
She is survived by three daughters, Mari Ellen Eivins of Colorado Springs, CO, Connie Meyer of Holland and Jolene Coffman of Grain Valley, MO, a sister, Tena Paterni of Wellsburg; a brother, Johnannes Meester of Parkersburg; three grandsons, Michael Sienknecht of Colorado Springs, CO, Joe Garcia of Kewaunee, WI, Alle Meyer of Holland; five granddaughters, Tanya Eivins of Colorado Springs, CO, Julissa Garcia of Marengo, Jaylinda Garcia of Primghar, and Annie and Katie Coffman of Grain Valley, MO; three great-grandchildren, Chad and Cory Sienknecht of Colorado Springs, CO and Russell Garcia of Kewaunee, WI.
Doyen-Abels Funeral Home in Wellsburg was in charge of the arrangements.
