Rites Held For Ina Lindaman

Mrs. Ina Lindaman of Ackley passed away on Saturday, December 20, at the Presbyterian Home in Ackley. She attained the age of 87 years, nine month and 3 days.

Funeral services were held at the East Friesland Presbyterian Church, Ackley, on Monday, December 22, at 11 a.m. Rev. Donald L. Martin officiated.

The organist was Debra Oelmann and Arlene Heetland and Marlene Oelmann were the singers.

Pallbearers were Mark Boheman, Mike DeBerg, Neil Thomas, Steve DeBerg, Laurel Thomas and Jim McDowell. Serving as ushers were Fred Feikes and Bill Koop.

Interment was in the East Friesland Cemetery.

Friends and relatives were invited to return to the church for an hour of fellowship following the committal service.

The Brandt & Fritz Funeral Home of Ackley was in charge of the arrangements.

Ina Lindaman was born March 17, 1899, in Etna Township, Hardin county, on a farm currently owned by her daughter and son-in-law, Darlene and Willard DeBerg. Ina was the daughter of John and Margaret (Heikens) Cobie.

She attended grade school in German township and later attended Ellsworth College where after graduation she taught school in German township.

On a very happy day, July 17, 1924, she was joined in marriage to John R. Lindaman. They were the parents of five children: Mildred, Margaret Jean, Josephine, Ruth and Darlene. Ina and John lived on the same farm together for 55 years in German township of Grundy county until she entered the Presbyterian Home on November 6, 1986.

Ina was a member of the East Friesland Presbyterian Church, RR, Ackley, for over 65 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, George and Joe, and one sister, Luella Hook; a grandchild, Georgia Campbell; and a great-grandchild, Jon Thomas.

Ina leaves her husband for 62 years, John; five daughters, Mildred Thomas of Alden, Margaret Jean Campbell of Mt. Vernon, MO, Josephine Miller of Powell, WY, Ruth Boheman and Darlene DeBerg, both of Ackley; 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
