Dennis Ray Niehaus, 62, of Wellsburg, died from natural causes on Dec. 30, 2000, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo.

Funeral services were 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 2, at Faith Presbyterian Church, rural Ackley. Pastor Tim Diehl officiated. Burial was in the church cemetery.

He was born Aug. 26, 1938, in rural Grundy County, son of Casper J. and Etta (Peters) Niehaus. He graduated from Wellsburg High School in 1957. He was united in marriage to Pam Hillygus in Conrad on July 2, 1965.

He was a member of the Faith Presbyterian Church. He was an avid golfer and loved to go hunting. He worked as a forklift operator at Quality Products in Eldora.

He is survived by his wife Pam of Wellsburg; a son, Darin Niehaus of Buhler, KS; two brothers, Ivan Niehaus of Ackley and Gary Niehaus of Des Moines; and a sister, Carol and her husband Mel Ferguson of Grimes.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and son, Dana Niehaus.

Doyen-Abels Funeral Home, Wellsburg, was in charge of the arrangements.
