Mrs. Stoehr Dies Suddenly At Home Here

Mrs. William Stoehr, 67, died about 6 p.m. Sunday at her rural Grundy Center home of a heart condition.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Wellsburg with Rev. Fred A. Muenchow in charge. Burial was in the Shiloh Township cemetery.

Casketbearers were Homer Ross, Calvin Wiltfang, Darrell Koch, Eldon Loots, Ted Harms and Dale L. Heerts.

Special music during the service was provided by vocalists Mrs. Elmer Ruter and Donald Gummer, and organist, Mrs. Norman Harms. Flower attendants were Mrs. Lucy Abels and Mrs. Ted Harms.

Doyen Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Stoehr was admitted to the Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo for treatment and later was transferred to the St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minn. for further treatment, returning home from Rochester on September 23.

She was born Esther Primus, on a farm in Shiloh township, southeast of Wellsburg on December 6, 1907, the daughter of Hilderd and Benje (Jaspers) Primus. She attended the rural school in the area and graduated from the Wellsburg High School in 1925. On December 30, 1926, she was united in marriage to William Stoehr at the St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Wellsburg by the Rev. C. Heinrich. Following their marriage they moved to a farm in Colfax Township, southeast of Wellsburg, where they continued to make their home.

Mrs. Stoehr was a long time member of the St. John's Lutheran Church of Wellsburg and a member of the Ladies Aid of the church.

Those who preceded her in death were: her parents, one son in infancy and two brothers, Claus and Jake Primus.

She leaves to mourn her passing her husband, 1 sons: Kenneth of Lincoln; Gary of Grundy Center; 5 grandchildren: Stacy, Kelcey, Jeff, Gary William and Stephanie Stoehr; 4 step-grandchildren: Valerie, Suezette, Robin and Kent Johnson; 5 sisters: (Gladys), Mrs. Ben Wiltfang of Wellsburg; (Marie), Mrs Joe Ross of Grundy Center; (Ruth), Mrs. Charles Rohde of Marshalltown; Mrs. Bernice Koch of Wellsburg; (Helen), Mrs. Don Fink of Gravois Mills, Mo. and many other relatives and friends.
