Rites Monday For Henry J. Heikens

Funeral services for Henry J. Heikens who passed away at his farm home southwest of Wellsburg Thursday morning, March 3, were held at the Second Christian Reformed church Monday at 1:30 p.m. Rev. K. Tebben and Rev. C. Van Winkle officiated.

Music was furnished by Mr. and Mrs. Leland Luwe who sang two selections accompanied by Mrs. Wilbur Knock, organist. Flower attendants were Mrs. August Haupt and Mrs. Henry O. Nederhoff. Pall bearers were Julius Wilts, Julius Heikens, Melvin Nederhoff, Donald Heikens, Marvin Heikens, and Evert Heikens.

Interment was in the Shiloh cemetery. A prayer service was held at the home at 1 p.m.

Mr. Heikens was born February 28, 1895 on a farm in Grundy county, the son of Julius J. and Henrietta Meyer Heikens. He attended rural schools in this area.

On March 12, 1918 he was united in marriage to Anna Risius at Buffalo Center, Ia. This union was blessed with two sons and one daughter.

He was a member of the Second Christian Reformed church.

Survivors include the wife Anna, a son Julius of Holland, a son Bennie of Wellsburg and a daughter Betty June at home, also five grandchildren, three brothers John and Ebbo of Wellsburg; Harry of Steamboat Rock, Mrs. Wm Wulf (Elsie) of Wellsburg and Mrs. Henry E. Nederhoff (Anna) of Ackley.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.

Those who attended from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. John Bos of Ellsworth, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Klaas Risius, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Risius, Mr. and Mrs. Harm Risius, Mr. and Mrs. Jake Risius, Mr. and Mrs. Menon Risius, Mrs. Andrew Risius, George Risius of Buffalo Center, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Krambeck of Spencer and Mrs. Annie Mori of Everly.

Correction

In the Henry Heikens obituary last week the name of Mrs. Gratus Wilts, a sister of the deceased, was unintentionally omitted.
