Lydia Boekhoff Funeral May 14

Funeral services for Mrs. Lydia Boekhoff were held Monday afternoon, May 14 at 1:30 p.m. at the Doyen Funeral Home. Rev. David Dupee was officiating clergyman. A ladies' trio, Mrs. Leonard Oelmann, Mrs. Dale Heetland and Mrs. Gordon Fritz sang two selections accompanied by Mrs. Virgil Heetland. Flower attendants were Mrs. Henry Riebkes and Mrs. John Boekhoff Jr. Pall bearers were Arend Fisher, Ralph Aikes, Ernest Oelmann, Okko Jaspers, Marvin Riebkes and Jack Deters. Interment was made in Shiloh Cemetery in Wellsburg.

Mrs. Boekhoff passed away around 7 o'clock Saturday morning, May 12 at the Maple Manor Nursing Home in Aplington due to complications of a stroke. She reached the age of 88 years, 2 months and 2 days.

Mrs. Boekhoff was born on a farm near Owensville, Mo., on March 10, 1885, the daughter of Louis and Louisa (Tracht) Nebelsick. She attended the rural school in the area. In 1926 she was united in marriage to George Boekhoff. Following their marriage they lived on a farm in South Dakota. Mr. Boekhoff passed away in 1964. Mrs. Boekhoff had made her home in Hickman, Neb. prior to moving to the nursing home in Aplington. She had been a resident of the nursing home since the spring of 1970. She was a long time member of the Presbyterian Church in Emery, South Dakota and later at Hickman, Nebr.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Louis Nabelsick.

Those who survive her are her son, Albert H. Boekhoff of Wellsburg, 3 grandchildren, 2 sisters and 3 brothers, Mrs. Florence Rotschafer of Hickman, Nebr., (Amelia), Mrs. Henry Rotschafer of Hickman, Nebr., Henry Nebelsick of Talmage, Nebr., Arthur Nebelsick of Crete, Nebr. and Fred Nebelsick of Owensville, Mo.
