Clarence Meyer Dies In W'loo

Clarence R. Meyer, 76, of 3002 Loma St., Cedar Falls, died Thursday, November 22, at Allen Memorial Hospital at Waterloo of a heart attack.

He was born May 26, 1914, in Wellsburg, the son of Siebe H. and Nantje Riekena Meyer. He was a graduate of Wellsburg High School.

He married Muriel Gallup on February 21, 1950, in Cedar Rapids.

He was a sheet-metal worker for General Sheet-Metal Works for 30 years, retiring in 1975. During World War II he was a sergeant in the Army Air Force.

Survivors include his wife; three stepdaughters, Gloria Ann Sweet of St. Petersburg, Fla., Corrine Jane Koopman and Marilyn Mae Pauley, both of Sarasota, Fla.; two brothers, Edward of Washington, Mo., and Harley of Phoenix, Ariz.; five sisters, Gertrude DeNeui and Donna Meyer both of Wellsburg, Minnie Taffinder Harlan of Lakewood, Calif., Eva Widman of Mesa, Ariz., and Clareen Baehr of Bella Vista, Ark.; nine step-grandchildren; and eight step-great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death were two sisters, Frieda Boelman and Clara Meyer.

No services were held. The body was cremated. Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel of Cedar Falls was in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be directed to the Wellsburg Rescue Squad.
