Lillian Haupt Services Held
Lillian Marie (Bakker) Haupt, 79, of Wellsburg, passed away Wednesday, November 30, at Mary Greeley Hospital in Ames of cancer.
Funeral services were held at the First Christian Reformed Church in Wellsburg on Saturday, December 3, at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Thomas Vos officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers were Lance Haupt, Bruce Bakker, Kendall Bakker, Jerry VandeVoort, Ryan Bakker, Wallace Haupt, Henry J. VandeVoort and Michael Klingenberg.
Honorary pallbearers were Todd Haupt, Kevin Haupt and Randy Haupt.
A memorial fund has been established.
Lillian was born on March 8, 1915, in Grundy County, the daughter of Peter and Minnie Ross Bakker. On September 21, 1937, she was united in marriage to Oldig O. Haupt at the Christian Reformed Church in Holland.
Lillian was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church in Wellsburg, the Queen Esther Society, and Timothy Sisters. Lillian was a devoted wife and mother whose joy came from serving her family and those around her. Her Christian life was a witness to those who knew her.
Lillian is survived by her husband, Oldig; 4 children, Ruth VandeVoort and husband Henry L. of New Sharon, Melvin and his wife Arlene of Wellsburg, Doris Klingenberg and her husband Laverne of Holland, Michigan, and Raymond and his wife Cheryl of Eldora; 1 brother, Willis Bakker of Steamboat Rock; 2 sisters, Annette Eekhoff of Renwick and Bernice Haupt of Wellsburg; 16 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Doyen-Abels Funeral Home, Wellsburg, was in charge of the arrangements.
