Mrs. Eike Ruter Died Monday

Mrs. Eike Ruter died at her home near Wellsburg Monday afternoon. She had been afflicted with diabetes for some time. That affliction together with advanced age resulted in her death. She was 77 years old.

Mrs. Ruter was born in Holland, Europe, October 9, 1874. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Luppen. At the age of 9 she came with her parents to America and they located on a farm in this locality where she grew to womanhood. She and Eike Ruter were married in March, 1897, and resided on a Shiloh township farm during their married life. Mr. Ruter died five years ago last April.

Funeral Services Thursday
Funeral services will be held at the home at 12:30 Thursday and later at the Reformed church in Wellsburg with Rev. Edw. Jurgens officiating. Burial will be in the First Christian Reformed church cemetery.

13 Children Survive
There are 13 surviving children. They are Alice and Eike at home; Fred, Herman, Peter, John, all of Wellsburg; Mrs. John Heinrichs, Mrs. Henry Rieken, Mrs. Roy DeNeui, Mrs. Delbert Lindaman, Mrs. Ibe Finke, Wellsburg; Mrs. John Meyer, Aplington; Mrs. George Beck, Des Moines.
