Martin M. Ross, 93, of Wellsburg, died October 27 at the Presbyterian Village in Ackley.

Funeral services were October 31 at the United Reformed Church in Wellsburg. Pastor Harold Miller officiated. Burial was in the Shiloh Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established.

Martin was born August 3, 1908, the son of Martin A. and Dora (Sievers) Ross. He attended Country School. On March 8, 1930, he was united in marriage to Pearl Johnson in Wellsburg. The couple farmed near Wellsburg. Martin was a member of the United Reformed Church and was a Deacon of the former Christ Covenant Church, where he served on the consistory and was a member of the Men's Society at church.

He was preceded in death by his wife Pearl on June 26, 2000; his parents; a son, LuVerne "Skip" Ross; grandson, Terry Ross; five brothers, Albert, William, Joe, Sam and Gratus; and a sister, Nettie Huisman.

Survivors include his daughter, Marlys Haats of Clive; four grandchildren, Thomas and Karla Haats, Tonya Dixon and Todd Ross; three great-grandchildren, Jessica and Benjamin Martin Ross and Sam Dixon.
