Services Held For Mrs. Heike Miller
Funeral services for Mrs. Heike Miller were held on Monday, May 13 at 1:30 p.m. at the Wellsburg Reformed Church. Rev. Gideon Wolbrink was in charge of the services. Two duet numbers were sung by Mrs. Harvin Meyer and Mrs. Marvin Stahl. Miss Marcella Neessen was organist. Mrs. Tyle Huisman and Mrs. Richard Claassen were flower attendants. Pall bearers were Meint J. Bakker, Evert L. Bakker, Edward Miller, Evert Heikens, Gratus Mudderman and Willard Riekena. Interment was in Shiloh cemetery.
Mrs. Miller passed away very suddenly on Friday morning, May 10, at her home in Spirit Lake. She reached the age of 62 years, 1 month and 24 days.
She was born Tena Ross on March 16, 1912, on a farm in Shiloh township northwest of Wellsburg, the daughter of Evert A. and Stienka (Swyter) Ross. She attended the rural school in the area. She was united in marriage to Heike Miller. Following their marriage they lived in Wellsburg. They lived in Marshalltown for several years and then in 1963 they moved to Spirit Lake. She attended the Methodist Church in Spirit Lake.
Those who preceded her were: her parents, six sisters: Mrs. Grace Bakker, Mrs. Meint Mudderman, Mrs. Bertha Riekena, Mrs. Minnie Heikens, two in infancy; three brothers: Evert E. Ross, Willie E. Ross and Albert E. Ross.
She leaves to mourn her passing: her husband; one son, Calvin Miller of Manhattan Beach, Calif.; one daughter (Hylene), Mrs. Tom Fiscus of Sioux City; two grandchildren, Rodney and Melissa Fiscus; three sisters, Mrs. Anna Bakker of Wellsburg, Mrs. Rena Miller of Dike; Mrs. Dena Harms of Wellsburg and a host of other relatives and friends.
