DaNelle Groote, 48, of Wellsburg, died August 24 at the Grundy County Memorial Hospital in Grundy Center. Cause of death is pending an autopsy. Funeral services were August 27 at Wellsburg Reformed Church. Burial followed at Shiloh Cemetery in Wellsburg.

DaNelle was born March 26, 1955 in Grundy Center, the daughter of Harold and Isabelle (Harberts) Eiklenborg. She was raised around the Dike area and graduated from the Dike High School in 1973. She attended Hawkeye Tech in Waterloo and later Ellsworth Community College in Iowa Falls. She was united in marriage to Sheldon Groote on April 24, 1976 at the Stout Reformed Church. The couple lived in Cedar Falls in 1976-1981 where she worked for Dr. K. R. Rao. They lived in Maxwell from 1981-1985, Manson from 1985-1989, Ford Dodge from 1989-1990, Ida Grove from 1990-1997, Montezuma from 1997-2003 and the couple moved to Wellsburg this past summer. DaNelle worked as a Paraprofessional aide at Ida Grove, Montezuma and was just starting at AGWSR. She was a member of the Sully Reformed Church in Sully where she taught Bible School and helped with Thursday night family night at Sully Reformed.

She was preceded in death by her parents; father and mother-in-law, Herman and Junice Groote; and a brother-in-law, Preston Groote.

Survivors include her husband, Sheldon, a son, Kyle at home; three sisters, LuRae and her husband Jerry Eberline of Wellsburg, JoLeen Eiklenborg of Waco, TX, CoLeen and husband Darwin Pruisner of Boulder, CO; a brother, Wendell Eiklenborg of Dike; a sister-in-law, Mary Groote of Arvada, CO; and nieces and nephews.
