Evelyn DeNeui Buried Here On Wednesday
Funeral services for Mrs. Evelyn June De Neui were conducted on Wednesday, December 8 at 10:30 a.m. at the First Assembly of God Church in Des Moines.
Officiating pastor was Rev. David C. Crabtree. Two selections were sung by the soloist, Phil Pfaltzgraff. Mrs. Dawn Crabtree was organist.
Pall bearers were Virgil Aukes, Dale Aukes, Kempton Walbaum, Wayne Aukes, Gordon Geerdes and Douglas Geerdes.
The interment service was held at the Shiloh cemetery at Wellsburg at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 8 with Rev. John H. Elenbaas officiating.
Mrs. DeNeui passed away Saturday evening, December 4, at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines after suffering a heart attack at her home. She reached the age of 49 years, 5 months and 11 days.
She was born on June 23, 1933, the daughter of John and Helen (Evert) Aukes and received her education in the German No. 7 country school in the area. She graduated from Wellsburg high school with the class of 1951. On September 15, 1951, she was married to Keith De Neui in Arkansas. Following their marriage their work took them to several states and for the past 15 years they have lived in Des Moines, IA. This union was blessed with 2 daughters, Kristin and Susan, and one son,Lon.
She was preceded in death by her father and two step-fathers, Herbert Huisman and Clarence Conrad.
Those left to mourn her passing are her husband, Keith D. De Neui of 2619 39th St., Des Moines, IA; two daughters, Mrs. Tony (Kristin) Harris of Des Moines; Mrs. Steve (Susan) Mayer of Des Moines; one son,Lon De Neui, stationed in Manila, Philippines with the United States Marine Corps; 5 grandchildren; her mother, Mrs. Helen Conrad of Marshalltown; 2 sisters and 3 brothers, Mrs. Douglas (Virginia) Geerdes of Wellsburg; Virgil Aukes of Carrolton, TX; Wayne Aukes of Wellsburg; Mrs. Kempton (Lavonne) Walbaum of Marshalltown; Dale Aukes of Bangor and many other relatives and friends.
