Lucille Christians, 87, of Wellsburg, died Friday, Dec. 3, 1999, at the Ackley Presbyterian Home in Ackley of heart failure.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Dec.6, at the Wellsburg Reformed Church in Wellsburg. Burial followed in the Shiloh Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established.

Lucille was born Sept. 6, 1912, in Shiloh Township, Grundy County the daughter of Dirk and Minna (Luitjens) De Neui. On Jan. 4, 1940, she was united in marriage to Arend Christians at the Colfax Center Presbyterian Church parsonage. They made their home north of Holland and later moved northeast of Wellsburg where they continued to farm and raise livestock. In 1973 they retired and moved to Wellsburg. Arend preceded her in death in 1992. In 1994 Lucille moved to the Ackley Presbyterian Home.

Lucille is survived by one daughter, LaVine Teske and her husband Robert of Alden; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one grandson, Scott Teske; five brothers, Sander, Henry, Dickie, Lee and Noble; and three sisters, Flora, Hannah and Rena.

Doyen-Abels Funeral Home, Wellsburg was in charge of the arrangements.
