Mrs. D. H. Dieken Dies After Long Illness

Mrs. D. H. Dieken died at her home in Grundy Center Tuesday following an illness of over a year. She was 72 years old on the 24th of March.

Mrs. Dieken was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Conrad Kruse. She was born at Forreston, Ill. At the age of four she came to Grundy county with her parents. The family moved on a farm in Colfax township.

On April 24, 1902, Mr. and Mrs. D. H. Dieken were married. They moved on a farm in Lincoln township where they resided until they moved to Grundy Center in 1922. Mr. Dieken died April 19, 1942. Since that time Mrs. Dieken continued to live in her home in Grundy Center. The past year her brother, Rev. A. C. Kruse, was with her in her home.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Chester Diehl, Glenwood, Ill., and one son, Edward Dieken, of Grundy Center. There are three grandchildren; two brothers, Rev. A. C. Kruse and Henry Kruse; and one sister, Mrs. Kate Abels, all of Grundy Center.

Funeral Services Friday
Funeral services for Mrs. Dieken will be in the Bethany Presbyterian church at two o'clock Friday afternoon. Rev. F. J. Langenberg will be in charge of the services. Burial will be by the side of the husband in the Colfax church cemetery.
