Mrs. Al Kline Dies In Nursing Home
Mrs. Al Kline died last Tuesday afternoon at the Custodial Home in Grundy Center where she had been a resident for the past year and a half. Old age and complications were the cause of her death. She was 87 years old.
Mrs. Kline lived in Grundy county for 82 years. She was born in Oneida, Ill. Sept. 25th, 1876. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Fink. The family located on a Melrose township farm 82 years ago where she grew up. She was one of eleven children in the family. Only one other of the family, Guy Fink, is still living.
Fannie Fink and Al Kline were married May 26th, 1898. The couple resided on a Grundy county farm in Melrose township until 1952 when they moved to Conrad. The husband died a year later.
Surviving are two sons and a daughter. The sons are Leslie of Conrad and Lawrence who lives on the home farm. Mrs. Irene Grove, the daughter, lives in Des Moines. There are 7 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
Services in the Alice Church
The body was brought to the Johnston Funeral Home in Conrad where funeral arrangements were made. Services were Friday afternoon at the Alice church. The service was conducted by Rev. Heims. Burial was in the Alice cemetery.--newspaper clipping, source unknown
