Hazel Kell Services Held
Hazel L. Kell, 86, of Conrad, passed away Thursday, June 8, at Oakview Nursing Home in Conrad.
Funeral services were held Monday, June 12, at 10:30 a.m.at Alice Church of God, rural Conrad, with Rev. James Snare officiating. Burial was at Alice Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jay Kell, Sam Kell, Roger Ralston, Randy Kell, Jerry Kell and Randy Hoeck.
A memorial fund is being established.
Hazel was born on July 4, 1908, the daughter of Ira J. and Bessie M. Wiley Klinefelter in Grundy Center. She graduated from Grundy Center High School in 1927.
On September 30, 1929, she was united in marriage to David B. Kell in the Little Brown Church, Nashua. She taught school in Palermo Twp. for 2 years. Hazel and her husband had farmed in the Grundy Center and Conrad areas before retirement.
She was a member of Alice Church of God, rural Conrad; St. Elmo Chapter #398 Order of Eastern Star; and Mid Circle club of Conrad.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David on January 13, 1991; her parents; and 2 sisters.
Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Madney of Phoenix, Arizona; a son, Delbert Kell of Conrad; 8 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Eva Phillips of Wellman and Lois Brandenburg of Lebanon, Ohio; and 1 brother, Leonard Klinefelter of Marshalltown.
Johnston Funeral Home, Conrad, was in charge of the arrangements.
