Alice Gohner, 88, Buried Saturday

Funeral services for Mrs. Alice Gohner, 88, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Alice Church of God with Rev. H. L. Heim officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Special music for the service was provided by vocalists Mrs. Lyle Heltibridle and Mrs. Henry Hertema, and Mrs. Dale Callaway was organist.

Casket bearers were Arthur Bockes, Jack Hughes, Dale Callaway, Dale Bockes, Laurence Kline and William Veld.

Serving as flower attendants were Mrs. Arthur Bockes, Mrs. Robert Furland and Mrs. Clark Brindle.

Alice C., daughter of Samuel Y. and Mary Ellen Reisinger, was born in Grundy county July 12, 1877.

She grew to womanhood in the Alice community and continued to reside there throughout her life.

She was united in marriage to Louis J. Gohner on Dec. 13, 1899. To this union two children were born; a daughter, Vivian, Mrs. Thomas Boyle of Conrad, and a son, Raymond, who passed away in 1919. Mr. Gohner also preceded her in death, in September, 1949. A sister, Minnie Stevens, passed away in 1918.

Death came quietly to Mrs. Gohner on Wednesday morning, June 15th, at the Oakview Nursing Home in Conrad, where she had been a resident for about 15 months.

She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Boyle, one grandson, Duane Boyle and three great-grandchildren, all of Conrad, and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Gohner was a long-time member of the Alice Church of God where she was faithful in attendance until ill health hindered, about 2 years ago. She was also a member of the Conrad WCTU.
