Bernice Vivian Boyle, 97, of Conrad, passed away Wednesday, July 8, at Oakview Nursing Home in Conrad of natural causes.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 11, at the First Baptist Church, Grundy Center, with Pastor Michael Nemmers officiating. Burial was at the Alice Cemetery in rural Conrad. A memorial fund is being established.
Pallbearers were Rich Meester, Dick Rolston, Ronald Schildroth, Bill Stephenson, Brad Stevens and Jim Ward.
Bernice was born on February 4, 1901, the daughter of Louis J. and Alice Reisinger Gohner in Conrad. She attended country school and then the Conrad School. On November 30, 1922, she was united in marriage to Thomas P. Boyle in Conrad. She was a homemaker.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Grundy Center, its Sunday School and Mission Union and the Conrad Senior Citizens.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas P. Boyle; a son, Duane R. Boyle; her parents; a brother; and a grandchild, Barbara Kaput.
Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Norma L. Boyle of Conrad; 2 grandchildren, Gary T. Boyle of Conrad and Deborah Stubbs of Des Moines; and 3 great-grandchildren.
