August J. Siefken Dies Monday a.m., Services Thursday

Funeral services for August J. Siefken, who died early Monday morning in the Grundy County Memorial Hospital of a heart attack and complications of asthma, will be held Thursday, April 16, at 1 p.m. at the home and later at the Colfax Center Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Wiert Eckhoff will be the officiating minister. Interment will be in the Colfax Presbyterian cemetery.

Mrs. Darlene Luchtenburg will sing, and Mrs. Hiram Dieken will be at the organ. Mrs. Marlyn Meyer and Mrs. Alvin Lutterman will be in charge of the flowers.

The pallbearers are Hilko Siefken, Marvin Siefken, Jake Aalfs, Herman Frieling, Elmer Harms and Marlin Siefken.

August Siefken, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John H. Siefken, was born August 2, 1892 near Holland and spent his entire life on farms in the Wellsburg and Holland area with the exception of ten years he and his family spent on a South Dakota farm.

He was a faithful husband and father and a firm believer in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.

He and Gertie Harms were married February 21, 1917, and they became the parents of four children: Edward of Belle Plaine, Donald of Wellsburg, Ronald and Marion (Mrs. Chris Koch) of Holland.

Preceding him in death were his parents, two sisters and one brother.
