Last Rites For Mrs. Gertie Siefken
Funeral services for Mrs. Gertie Siefken were held Thursday afternoon, October 29 at 1:00 p.m. at the Beving Funeral Home and later at the St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran church. Rev. Peter Larsen was officiating clergyman. Interment was made in the Colfax Center Presbyterian church cemetery near Holland.

The church choir sang two selections accompanied by Mrs. Frank Meyeraan Jr., organist. Flower attendants were Mrs. Alfred Krull and Mrs. Edwin Stahl. Pall bearers were Chris Finke, Ebe Finke, Ibe W. Harms, Harold F. Harms, I. J. Harms and Norman Harms.

Mrs. Siefken passed away Tuesday morning, October 27 about 1:30 a.m. at the Grundy Co. Memorial hospital where she had been confined for several weeks. Previously she had also been confined to the University hospital at Iowa City for treatment. She attained the age of 65 years, 3 months and five days.

She was born on July 20, 1899 in Shiloh township, to Mr. and Mrs. Harm Harms. Her education was received in a rural school in Grundy county. On February 21, 1917 she was united in holy wedlock to August Siefken. They made their home first near Holland and then for ten years lived in South Dakota. In 1929 they moved back to the Wellsburg area, living their last years together on a farm in Colfax township. This spring Mrs. Siefken moved to her home in Wellsburg.

On July 4, 1900 the deceased was baptized into the Christian Church at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Those who survive are three sons: Edwin Siefken of Belle Plaine, Donald Siefken and Roland Siefken both of Wellsburg, also one daughter, Mrs. Chris Koch of Holland, also ten grandchildren. Three sisters and four brothers who also mourn her loss are Mrs. Frank Folkerts and Mrs. Clarence Folkerts both of Raymond, Minn., Mrs. Henry Aalfs of Wellsburg, Paul Harms of Custer, S. D., Otto Harms, Edward H. Harms, and Harold H. Harms all of Wellsburg.

Preceding the deceased in death were her parents already mentioned also one brother, Ibe Harms and two sisters Dora Harms and Mrs. Paul Frieling.
