Matthew "Matt" Courtney Scholl, 35, died April 8, 2008, at his home in Carlisle, Iowa. Services will be held April 12, 2008, at 10 a.m. at Carlisle United Methodist Church. Visitation will be Friday, April 11, 2008, from 4 to 8 p.m. with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. at Richardson Funeral Home in Carlisle, Iowa. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Brandon Scholl Trust Fund under the direction of his grandparents, William and Kayleen Scholl. Committal Services 2 p.m. at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery in Wellsburg, Iowa.

Matthew was born February 5, 1973 in Cresco, Iowa. He was the eldest son of William and Kayleen (Meyeraan) Scholl. Matt graduated from Carlisle High School in 1991. Upon graduation he was employed at Carlisle Foods. He was a volunteer fire fighter and EMT for the Carlisle Fire Department and Rescue Squad. He was confirmed in, and a member of the Carlisle United Methodist Church. Matthew was a Little League Baseball coach for several years in Carlisle.

He is survived by his son, Brandon; parents, William and Kayleen Scholl of Carlisle, Iowa; brother, Chad (Tiffany) of Carlisle, Iowa; and other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
