Alvin DeNeui Died Friday At Forest City

Alvin DeNeui, son of Bert DeNeui, a former resident of this locality died Friday at the University hospital, Iowa City. He had been suffering several months from a kidney ailment. He was 28 years old.

He had been making his home and was employed at Steamboat Rock up to the time his health began failing when he went to the home of his sister.

Obituary
Alvin Gustav DeNeui was born on a farm northeast of Steamboat Rock on June 14, 1924. He was the son of Albertus and Hulda (Schmidt) DeNeui. He attended the rural public schools in this community. He was a regular attendant at the Steamboat Rock Presbyterian Sunday School and was baptized in that church on May 27, 1928. He grew to manhood in this neighborhood and spent his entire life here, except for the last four months when he made his home with his sister, Mrs. Henry Gelder.

Funeral services were held in the Presbyterian church at Steamboat Rock Monday afternoon, with Dick Harberts officiating. Burial was by the side of his mother in the Reformed church cemetery at Wellsburg. His mother died six years ago.

Surviving is his father, who is making his home with his son Allen at Elmore, Minn. There are four surviving sisters. They are Mrs. Arend Miller, who lives north of Wellsburg; Mrs. Elso Jansen, of Lakota; Mrs. Henry Gelder, of Buffalo Center; and Mrs. Raymond Potthoff of Jesup, Ia.; also 5 nieces, 2 nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
